About Us

Black Butte Coffee Service was founded in 2026 by Austin Barr. Austin's coffee journey began as a barista in Austin, Texas, where his passion for coffee quickly grew beyond making drinks. Fascinated by every aspect of coffee—from the beans to the machines—he soon began working on espresso equipment at the coffee shops where he worked.

Determined to become a full-time coffee technician, Austin moved to Seattle, Washington, to join one of the longest-running and most respected service companies in the country. There, he gained extensive experience working on a wide variety of coffee equipment and developed a deep technical knowledge of the craft.

After taking a brief break from the industry and relocating to Bend, Oregon, Austin realized he wanted to return to his roots—helping local cafes and home baristas get the most out of their coffee equipment. Today, Black Butte Coffee Service combines expertise, passion, and a love for great coffee to provide reliable service and support to coffee lovers throughout Bend and beyond.
